Don't be so ignorant as to suggest the Taliban are a good example of Islamic practice. That's on a par with suggesting that Christianity could be critiqued by looking merely at the KKK. Of course the Taliban deserve criticism and they get plenty of it in the Islamic world. If only the US and the Saudis had not helped to create it in the first place eh? Then to go to war with the entire country for decades only to hand it back to the Taliban as they fled. Islam was also a thousand years ahead of Christian Europe in giving women the individual right to own property on her own which led to many other rights of independence and not needing to rely on men. But westerners never consider this. You don't sound like you know much about Islam at all to me.
"could be critiqued" Sorry, was addressing all religions, the apologetics and dogma they create. All too justify their existence without evidence, reason and common sense.
Yes I agree. I'm not religious but articles like this which misrepresent religion are not taking the high ground because they're ignoring evidence and reason unfortunately. The demonising of Muslims is something rational atheists should not partake in.
"should not partake" Agreed, simply all an atheist does is not believe in deities and superstitions without proven evidence.
IMO there are times when a rational atheist needs to be reminded that most religions are death cults hell bent on the end times and living in unsubstantiated fear with the sword helping them along.
I am in agreement with this article. It actually covers two issues, religion that dictates government policy and the oppression of women. If one pays attention to the current situation in the U.S. we are headed down this road. Why are men so afraid of women?
Christopher Hitchens said it best. “Religion poisons everything “

Got to love the apologetics when it comes to religions. Trying to somehow make them rational and acceptable.
In God We Trust🤔
I don't think you're actually addressing anything I said at all. Maybe you didn't mean to reply to me?

Belief and faith are not evidance.🤔 Thanks
