“Unique scientific properties…” Lol, a little snark’s always a bonus in these sort of things. Yes, the religious sure do tend to get all up in their precious feefees when you critique their, somewhat crazy beliefs. But I mean, come on, it is the year of Our Lord two thousand and twenty six fer fuck’s sake, and yet, billions of otherwise rational people, are STILL convinced, Jesus is FOR SURE, gonna return, like next fucking week!
Yep, forget all of the millions and millions who’ve lived between when he allegedly made that promise and now, nope, screw those guys, he’s comin’ back in MY lifetime, cause, reasons n shit. Just pause for a second, and consider how silly that one point is, and IT’S got a shit ton of other silly points for company, SO many in fact, that to enumerate them all, would be an essay unto itself.
The whole thing is completely mad, and I say this as a man who was raised Catholic, and has actually read the Bible, cover to cover, more than once. For one thing, it’s been translated, and edited, chopped up, and put back together by people, all of whom had agendas, so to say something may have been lost in translation, is to understate the case by a lot, for another it was written by men, not “god”, and it’s as inconsistent a tome as ever there was.
Very few of THEM have ever read the damn thing, in nine out of ten cases, actually reading it, has probably created more atheists than anything else. It certainly solidified MY belief that it was a bunch of nonsense, I could go on for days, so I’ll conclude with this;
if you look up “Schizo-affective Disorder”, in the DSM-V, it contains the following, “NOTE: do not include a symptom if it is a part of a culturally sanctioned practice.”
This being the case, it seems very clear to me, that in any other context, religious behavior is indistinguishable from mental illness. Maybe if you’re getting your feelings hurt, it’s because on some level, you understand this? 🤷
The great John Lennon said it best with his ultimate masterpiece “Imagine.” Too bad the world needs the false opium of religion. What stupid and cowardly failures humans are. Hey assholes, you’re not going to meet your beloved dead pets, nevermind your dead friends and family.
You have no evidence for your comments. Read Kastrup.
Calling people names because they disagree with you is why atheists failed. Read How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Atheism is a movement based on pointless nitpicking that creates needless hostility against the vast majority of people. A poor person in the Third World, your working class next door neighbor, a charitable person, you curse those people if they believe in a Higher Power? But the atheist community, made up of mostly affluent white people, is a marginalized group?
Oh Idk, fantastical shit’s pretty fun, providing it stays in the “fiction” section, I like me some wizards, magic spells, talking dragons, and whatnot. I started reading S-F and Fantasy when I was around eight years old, being raised Catholic, it was actually one of the main reasons I didn’t believe a word of it, same funny hats, and staffs, same wizard robes, same blood-magic, same “spells and incantations”, only the magic spells in church, never did anything (and I absolutely expected them to when I was little).
I was always the kid asking the preachers questions they couldn’t answer, they bounced my ass outta Sunday school at one point. Eventually I concluded it was fantasy, same as the stories I was reading, only my stories were a whole lot more consistent, and much less boring. 😁
yes, contempt for abrahamist’s; that is a feeling, often derided by atheists, who are “peaceful” by nature, and are oft times as well on the same page concerning other aspects of living as any off those that follow any one of the nine billion names of god(s).
Therefore I no longer claim to be an atheist but have formed a new level of…
the athwartheist cultural and linguistic movement. ( the aclm ) we should be congealing into a guild real soon. remember : All Christ’s have been composted.
I've written a bunch about how the Templeton Foundation spent tons of money in academic philosophy to promote religious ideas like panpsychism while spreading false claims about science.
I place my faith in the scientific process as my method to understand the universe. And science has a good understanding of consciousness without invoking magical entities like a fundamental consciousness or universal mind.
So when people like Philip Goff lie about the failures of science and the limits of scientific inquiry, the best way to explain it is him offending my atheistic religious beliefs.
We should have respect for non-religious beliefs by not lying about them incessantly, and religious organizations funding and promoting those lies is harmful to public discourse.
When I grew up no-one cared about anyone's feelings apart from your closest family and friends. Religious people are part of institutions / ideologies and it's time they realised both are open for criticism. They don't mind criticising Marxists so why the double standard. Ricky Gervais is good on this subject.
I would gladly buy you a cup of coffee ☕️ My point is I can’t donate much but every so often when I have some spare cash I would donate to your cause, not much maybe $5. But I cannot because I’m only allowed to donate monthly at $8 or yearly. Not a commitment I can make.
I appreciate your article. You express my thoughts. Thank you!
#nanocon2025 proves no feelings
They are victims at all times

Religion of any kind is about control. I'll be damned if anyone tries to control me

John Lennon wasn’t an atheist.

Good joke.
Thank Substack for the Block option.
What a sick pup you are.
I could live most happily in a world filled with people who don’t follow fantastical bullshit.
Yes, so do I. The point is these fools live by this crap.

This post really struck a nerve for me.
